Reading
Unit 3: Using Text Structures to Comprehend Various Nonfiction Texts

• Be able to determine two or more main ideas in an informational text
• Understand signal words represented in various text structures
• Can determine the structure used by an author in an informational text
• Demonstrates an understanding of Greek & Latin affixes and root words
• Can identify evidence used by an author to support their claim.   

Mathematics

• Setting norms and expectations for our math block

Writing
Unit 3: Research Reports

• Can gather research from multiple sources to write about a topic
• Can organize writing in sections with relevant information to the section
• Can distinguish between trustworthy and untrustworthy sources. 

Social Studies
Unit 1: The Road to a Revolution (A New Nation)

• Determining the differences between Colonial Life and society today
• Understanding the different events that lead up to the American Revolution
• Analyzing the different perspectives of the events leading up to the American Revolution
